Usually, a few hours after the press release by the registrar of the GCE board, a message is sent to all users of MTN and Orange Cameroon mobile networks. The message contains a shortcode or USSD which can be dialed to obtain results. A specific code will be generated this year alongside instructions on how to check the GCE results 2023. Note that the use of such a code generally enquires charges that may vary from 200 FCFA – to 500 FCFA for every message inquiry made. Get GCE results 2023 from the national radio station
One of the oldest means via which candidates have always checked their GCE results is through the national radio station CRTV. The Cameroon Radio and Television CRTV always dedicates hours on air to reading out the names of successful candidates in the GCE examination. Starting from a specific center, results of the GCE are usually read out both for the ordinary and advanced levels.
For each center, the number of candidates who sat is mentioned alongside the number of candidates who successfully made it. Candidate name and number of papers passed are relevant information that can be retained during the result release over the radio. Read by order of merit, the most successful candidate per center and per level is mentioned first while the least successful comes last.
It should be noted that only the names of successful candidates are been called. Hence, it is most likely that any candidate whose name did not figure failed the examination. Though cases of omission may occur, the chances are very slim.

The GCE 2023 took place amid the COVID-19 pandemic that has been waited on for a very long time at this point. Conditions for sitting in for GCE A Level 2023

GCE 2023 O/A Level Examination Centers
As of 6 am, all candidates were expected at their respective centers where the exam was set to start at 8 am prompt. The Minister of Secondary Education, Dr. Pauline Nalova Lyonga visited some examination centers on the first day to evaluate the unfolding of the exams and the behavior of candidates. Background history of the GCE board
After the Cameroonisation of the London GCE in 1977, things went on easily until 1984. From 1984 onwards, the GCE started encountering inconsistencies as some London authorities started pulling out. Starting from 1990, when the University of London Examination and Assessment Council pulled out totally from the job it had played so far on the Cameroon GCE, the inconsistencies turned out to be considered disturbing. The University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate
As far back as 1944, most secondary schools in Nigeria and the then Southern Cameroons took the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate (UCLES) as their last assessment. Advanced Level General Grading System
A passing grade here is demonstrated by the Grades A to E of which Grade A is the most noteworthy and Grade E the least. Statement of results performance
Upon completion of marking, compilation, and deliberation, a statement of results performance is transferred to each genuine registration establishment or registration center.
Such proclamations are not sent to applicants who sat for the exams, their parents, or anybody professing to follow up for their sake. It is considered an extra service and thus necessitates an expense to be obtained by third parties.
Inquiries upon Results Proclamation
The stamping of papers by the Board or its inspectors and the consequences of such checking is considered conclusive and restricting on all candidates. The Board will not unless in its outright caution, go into correspondence about exam results with candidates or their guardians or their parents or any person professing to act in locos guardians.
Inquiries concerning the candidate exam results or candidate info on the result slip are first referred to the Chief of Center. In some exceptional situations, a direct request can be sent from the candidate or parents without prior notification to the chief of center. This applies when the grades proclaimed do not reflect the expected results of the candidate based on the coursework obtained in school.

Grant of Certificates
The award of exam certificates is solely dependent on the discretion of the Board and the Board has no responsibility towards candidates regarding the retention or wiping out of any certificate.

Issue of Certificates
The original candidate certificates are made available at registration centers at least six (6) months after the official publication of results. This is done upon the presentation of a valid identification paper. It is required of candidates to collect their certificates in the same year of publication of results. Generally, candidates are expected to do so by March latest since failure to do so will lead to a return of the certificate to the GCE Board.
External candidates are required to bring along their National Identity Card when coming for their certificates. At the end of the year of publication, certificates are returned to the Board. Once returned, candidates desiring to get in possession of their certificates will have to go to the headquarters of the GCE Board in person. Upon payment of a fee, this can be done at the Board’s main Office in Buea or the Bamenda Regional Office.
Requesting a duplicate certificate or duplicate result slip
Upon presentation of satisfactory evidence on the candidate’s identity, a duplicate of the GCE certificate or results slip. A time gap equivalent to two working days is needed by the Board to issue the duplicate.
